12-24v Passive PoE
Every Open Mesh OM Series access point is compatible with passive 12-24v PoE. This is not 802.3af PoE compatible, so some models* cannot be used with standard PoE switches or PoE injectors. Passive POE keeps costs low, reduces heat dissipation and allows for the most compact size possible. We sell a line of PoE injectors and power supplies to power these access points.
PoE switches are not supported*.
Do not use PoE switches to directly power OM2P-LC, OM2P or OM5P access points. Doing so will void the warranty and may damage the units.Single-port PoE injectors require a power supply.
We recommend the 18v North American or 24v Universal power supply*The OM2P-HS (released in April, 2014) now supports both passive and 802.3af PoE.
