My repeaters go up and down every few minutes

If you have repeater(s) that seem to bounce up and down this is likely due to one or more nodes being too close to a another (non Open-Mesh) wireless router on a nearby channel.

What to look for:

If the 24-hour usage graph looks something like this:



Where you see the alternating green and gray bands, this sort of interference is almost always the cause.  Often this is due to having your gateway node plugged into an existing wireless router that is on channel 6.  To fix the problem, either turn off the wireless on the existing router or move the node as far as you can away, at least a couple meters.  In the above example, the gateway node was moved 2 meters from the DSL router and you can see how the signal cleaned up and the bands disappeared.
